Here are our Nepal Highland #3's. Waiting for roots to come out the bottom now!
Heck yeah, great sprouting ratio there. Off to the races you go. ???
So interested in this strain. Girlfriend had this dream of us growing weed in the mountains in Nepal about the same time I started reading about them on pH. Coincidence, I think not. Lol.

Ha, like they stay anywhere near clean now. Lmfao. I think I'd manage pretty well there, sell the house here, and retire early there, living in some spot like @chiefer888 s pic above.
I could look at that view every morning while tending the garden.

Sounds like a nice dream to me.

NH#3 update, they are doin' well at just under 3 weeks. Starting to see roots popping out of the 2x2 pots. Only a few stragglers but still in the acceptable range. Gave them a light feeding today with the leftover tea I used on everyone else yesterday. This tea was cut back to 25% strength and each plantlet got 10CC and then was watered in with 10CC of plain water. I am torn between uppotting into gallons or quarts. I'd like to finish in 2-gallon trade pots [1.75 actual] and I either go from quart into 2 gallon or 1 gallon into 2. I think the roots will tell me what they want.
Any thoughts?

Sounds about where I'm at. I like to stretch every bit of my real estate be it container volume or square footage. I've never grown in anything larger than 2 gallon pots as I find at they fit perfectly for my SOG style of growing... I feel the qt to 2 gallon would be the better choice, especially if going from veg to bloom. More room to stretch legs has always been best in my experience, but when a 2 gallon finish is the end goal, your legs cant be to large to begin with! Of course finding the sweet spot is the ticket.

To help expand you margin of error, I highly recommend a good enzyme to help break down old root matter in the soil. Hydgrozyme is great, but there are others. I use Prozyme from Hesi but only because I had a line on the product and got it for dirt cheap.

I'm currently in these small pots that fit 24 to a standard prop tray. I'm running out of leg room fast as our plants are near the same age. I'm thinking of going into 1 gallons and an immediate flip just because I don't want to mix soil for a bunch of unknown males.

Cool project you got going. Reading earlier posts on security tell me our minds have been in the same place. Best of luck!

Yeah, it's kind of a toss up. I think I'll try the quart to 2 gallon method as suggested. They will start jumping soon, so probably only a few weeks before it's time for the 2 gallon. I hope to flip in January, but only if there is enough lower growth to clone them first. This will be a seeds only project, I'll grow out my favorite clones after the seed run, for my personal stash. Pics will be posted soon.

My thoughts on what I'd do if it was me in yer shoes.
Couple scenarios come to mind, depending on the goals.
If you're going for a faster time into flowering I'd go into the final pots and skip the 2nd up potting.
If you're still waiting for sexing, and they're ok in the current pots then I'd let em sit a bit longer to see, and then do the final pot with the keepers.
If they need an up pot now, and room is tight, then go with 1 gals til sexing, then do the final pots for the keepers soon as you know.

Love following along on this project. I've used that hygrozyme before, and it does work well. Have since changed things, and don't use it any longer, just let nature do its thing now, saves me the trouble, and money. lol. Can literally watch the top dressings turn into new soil in the plants pots over a few weeks as it gets watered, and turned in. In the totes of soil cooking, old root matter is pretty much gone after 30 days excepting the real thick ones. Built in compost for the next round of plants. lol.
Cannibal plants. lol. :LOL::LOL::LOL:

Imho the less up pots the better, especially if you're going for fast production. I start in 2L, and keep them there until they've sexed, and I know who to toss. Those quarts should last that long as well if you're trying to manage for space. From there I put them in whatever their final pot size is going to be. So typically only one transplant in their life time. Also as a side note, its so much less work to only have to up pot them once, and I'm a take the lazy approach grower. lol.

If you end up doing that you could catch a Goonch! The grower in me wants to visit that whole region; the Angler and Cat lover in me knows I'd either die trying to pet something I shouldn't or getting pulled in the river by a Catfish lol.

Nepal Highland #3 update. I had 1 seedling commit suicide [no reason], the rest just moved into their quart size pots. They are running a little slower than normal but now they are in a medium with nutrients. Let's turn up the juice and see what shakes loose!

As you can see, I transplanted all 19 [1 died from?] into Quarts. I did not have room for them all in gallons. Still planning on using 1.75-gallon pots to finish. I will flip as soon as I can take viable clones. The timer has been reset so that this flower room will lights out last. I work in that room last so as to keep from carrying pollen into my stable. If I can control my laziness, I should build a dust trap anteroom like we use when remodeling an occupied space.
I intend on using all the males in pollinization but damn, that will be a lot of pollen. Never done more than 1 male at a time before, lots of girls with him, but only one male. SHIT, I'm high AF, I almost got paranoid over excess pollen:stoned:.

The males I keep I trim way down prior to flowering, keeps them much smaller, and the pollen spread manageable. Imho I don't need a big boy, a little pollen can go a long, long way.
