Today I will be washing pin heatsink cobs (16), I have redone these lights almost every time.
This is just a little short, running down close reduces the spread on the ends.
Anyone else build a component type setup?
I have two identical frames over my uc. I started with one 3x3, but didnt offer any flexibility for plant height and tough leaning under it down low.
Even that doesn’t always work, always one that want to hug the ground. ?

I’m going to extend the frame and add (2) more Cree 3590 35k cobs to each frame. I will have to extend the cob rail frames to accommodate the extra length.
Some may get a kick out of my qb mount. I have a aluminum sheet I cut to mount them on now. I just threw those in there to see, HLG 288v1 on a HLG 185-54 driver, too inexpensive not to try.
I have some 3k boards for another light.
Basicallly, I have a frame and these cob frames just lay in it. The qb will lay in between the cob rails.
The ARA strips bolt on and mount the FR puck on it.
It makes the light so much more manageable, not wrestling with all the weight at one time.
I love messing with this stuff. You’ll have to call the power company if you want to know usage, I can tell you when there on. ?
You can kick me for wire management, but won’t do any good!
I’m a rough carpenter! ?

The test run of a FloraFlex bubbler to clay in 5” pots.
Trying every 2 hrs for 5 sec?, trying to have minimum runoff.
Right or not, I don’t know and I haven’t really found anything on it?
Not crazy about the residue, mostly clay?
Not slimey.

One reason I really like the Guardians is mixing nutes.
That’s one I got used, see the wire nuts, not sure why someone discombobulated it.
I knew the probe was no good, never are used.

Here I started tap water approx. 9 gal.
Added silica 8+ ml
Added Jacks mixed 21 g. 14 g 7 g in a gallon.
Poured some in, let settle 1.1
Little splash- 1.2 PH 6.1

I leave room in the rez, so if I go over, I have room to dilute.
I’m a horrible example of sticking to detail.
When I quit herding cats on the road, details seem less critical.
Some things are, don’t get me wrong.

I would still shoot for 10% runoff and check it to see what the ppm is. Imo that's how you can min max the amount of runoff needed. If ya see the runoff ppm climbing more than 10-15% of the feed you know you need to increase runoff a bit. Using that you can determine the most ideal runoff with as little waste as possible

That’s a good tip, didn’t occur to me, something I’ve never done.
I think it should becoming clear by now, I pretty much just throw stuff at the wall! ;)
The runoff would be easy enough to check and with the short cycle timer, tweak it.
I was curious about that today, looking for buildup on top of the clay. Not sure if that’s any gauge?
Jacks doesn’t really leave a salt residue for me.

Pretty much runs itself, it’s not rdwc growth, but it’s solid.
I’m going to pursue it some more.

I need to find some cheap plastic pots that the drip caps will fit on.
I’m not investing in the FloraFlex pots, their nice, but I’m drawing the line there.........for now! ?

People will be scratching their heads at my auction. :ummok:

So today I had to put a WARNING label on Blue Lotus F2 (Useful fundraiser)
I throw a variety of stuff in my pint smoke jar. GLG coozie makes it it bounce, a
little!

Remember the Brach’s Pick a Bag candy display in the grocery store, loose, can you imagine that today? ?

So, I smoke all day, everyday, I just grab and smoke. Stopped for break, boss is cool, grabbed a couple hits off the glass spoon pipe, o_O  woke up with my chin on my chest and drool running on my shirt. Holy shit, but you talk about chill. ?
“That’s never happened to me before, honey! “ :ROFLMAO:

Never a bad idea to just pour some plain water over the top. I do it every so often even in my RDWC over the hydroton just to clear salts built up over time. I would imagine F&D just do it before feed so you don't leave em with nothing to eat.

That’s a great idea, I can redirect the runoff to a bucket, currently a minuscule amount returns to the rez.

I would ph the water? tap is around 7ph.
Sounds like an option. I have never done F&D but I would use runoff to gauge how much I actually need to pump through and if my plants are asking for more or less nutrients. If the ppm is lower I know they are eating well and may need a bit more... If ppm if higher I would think eventually I may end up with a build up. I don't know any hard numbers but I'm thinking +/-10-15% I would be good

I did get things done, in between putting on dry clothes. ?
I have two sets of cobs in the rails.
Fell free to make fun!
I ripped the aluminum sheet for the qb heatsink, ya not “string line “ straight, free hand with a Diablo blade, it did a good job, better that using the backwards carbide. ?
I spaced these so each will be centered in between four cobs?
I have two mounted and holes prepped on the other.
The support brackets in the center will attach to my cob rail. They are actually driver mount brackets for the rail system, but they are perfect. I could have fabbed something, but these are so clean.
