Plumber's Buds

PlumberSoCal

? Guy Fire-y ?
Have you ever grown out Grapestomper or Sour Grapes? I see you love those grapey terps like myself and Grapestomper/Sour Grapes is one of my favorites. Might be something you’d like.
I have not. This is the only grape strain I've grown and it has been been better than others I've purchased. One of these days I may branch out but I seriously have so much already planned.

I must have extra enzymes that breaks that shit down like a Ninja....I can nearly literally cripple myself with edibles!..Like beyond uncomfortable unable to walk high.... wheelchair status...But then again some strains especially heavy indicas can ruin my day if I don't watch it?. Complete opposite of my wife..Glutton status!
I'm always vaping/smoking before & after taking. Always? so I don't know, I don't seem to get all that high on 1 cap but still. I've done 2 and felt good all day but no biggie. Maybe I have a high tolerance?

This is something I've always wanted to do.
Me 2 and why I planned this out. Here's the 3 Gorilla Hammer's? flipped on the 15th, 4 days ago.

20221119_140538.jpg side by side 2 wks apart. This has been really cool to watch?

That pipe wrench meme jogged an old memory .... which means story time ????

About 2001, I had been driving the same 1977 F100 for 10 years.

The seatbelt was starting to fray ( I was fat ), so I went to a salvage yard near my workplace, and in no time, they fixed me up with a really nice pull for a good price.

What I thought would would be a quick swap turned into a disaster when the damn bolt stripped on me. It was a weird torx bolt that held the assembly to the floorboard.
Some pictures similar from the internet below.

fbolt.jpg

fbolt2.jpg

The bolt actually penetrated through the entirety of the floorboard, and had that blue automotive threadlock on it.
24 years of baking in the desert couldn't have helped either.
Won't waste time listing everything tried, but I was exhausted and out of ideas.
Continued to drive with that frayed seatbelt for a week or so, 'knowing' I'd be thrown from the truck in a wreck... ?

So one day I swung by my folks place just to say hi. When leaving, just as an afterthought, I mention that mutha of a bolt to my Dad.
He patiently listened to the entirety of my tale - including every lame thing I tried, then replied "Why didn't you try a pipe wrench?"...
I had a blank, dumb look on my face, but had that replacement seatbelt in my truck as within a half hour of getting home ?

LOL sounds like the Desert was a true safety hazard :)

This is a Kratky set up. Once established

Only the bottom few inches of roots are in water

Rain would dilute the nutrients and overflow the bottles.

I'm kinda digging those bottles with the cups bro that's sweet.

When I first started playing with the Kratky idea I tried several different readily available cup sizes to see what worked best
20221121_114616.jpg
Before settling on the solo shot glass
20221121_114717.jpg

I'll be harvesting lettuce within a month and for the next 3-4 months

as long as I keep planting a dozen pots every 2 weeks? and what's really cool is having to walk past the Eastside Girls
20221121_114836.jpg
to get to the swing set. If you like purple plants this GDP ? is for you. Working on making seeds? That's no slouch next to her either, a Gorilla Hammer? but you can really see the color difference. Both beautiful plants?

Was it you that I saw doing the Kratky method on here some time back and I expressed my doubts? I thought for sure it would get completely skunked out in the container but I was totally proven wrong lol.

Looks like 8 good GDP
20221120_103243.jpg
Im guessing 5 males 3 females. That little one up front was 1 of 2 I planted Nov 1. The other didn't sprout and it's not looking good so today I planted 12 more and broke up the 99 Cent store's 2.4 gallon brick of coco coir for $1.99
20221121_124940.jpg
20221121_124944.jpg
20221121_125146.jpg broke up well and didn't have any husk pieces so was very good for seeds. I set it all out in the sun to warm.
20221121_125955.jpg
Hopefully I can add more DNA to the mix and still have a New Year flip date. I also planted 14 Gophers (Brutis OG x Chemdawg 2016) I need more seeds of those as well. Already crossed them with the GDP and thought of doing an F2 on them. Just too must going on as it is.

lg greenhouse today

Sm greenhouse
20221121_123347.jpg
The small one gets all day full sun while the large is in partial shade in the heat of the day, this time of year. And I still haven't completely wrapped it due to our warm summer like days, normally. Still 40-45 at night which is COLD.

If I don't open up the heated seed/cloner in the mornings
20221121_160559.jpg
it would get near 110F inside and start to sterilize everything. They're usually wilty by the time I do open it up some mornings and of course for a few days after taking cuttings. Right now there's different things, different ages and of course the seeds which I may have to rotate from the lg greenhouse where it's 40-45F at night. Have I mentioned that's COLD yet? Just checking?

Gorilla Hammer ?
20221121_161200.jpg
Getting very close. I'll start trying the last beast that's been jarred for several weeks and let this go for 10+ % amber. Guessing 65+/- days? We'll see as I'm in no hurry.

Yeah, I've been doing this for a few years now. We really love the lettuce. I've tried Broccoli and Brussel sprout and of course weed which I never flipped and just pulled tiny plants. The other 2 veggies didn't fair well either. Lettuce and Basil rock Kratky. Peas have been good but I have PM issues with all Peas and will be spraying neem oil like crazy no matter how I grow them and I can only grow them in winter here. I use half strength MasterBlend Tomato w/ epsom and calmag for all herbs and lettuce and veg weed as well. Once flipped I give them 1 1/2 strength MB, full epsom and half calmag. At 4 weeks double MB 1 1/2 epsom 1/2 calmag until last 3-4 days of plain water flush. Just wanted to document that as I've been working on an easy formula for several years and this is working great. Silica wouldn't be bad to add as well as a few others but even by itself I'm very happy with the redults?

Oh yeah, Mother's Milk ?
20221121_160919.jpg
There's a nasty Gorilla Hammer ? in between above
20221121_160941.jpg
20221121_161056.jpg
Very little smell, either one yet and we're 52 days. I know how they smell/taste once dried and cured but I got plenty so no hurry. Going for the gold or amber as the case may be?

No more pine scent at all just a loud stay in your nostrils if you get too close funky, gassy, Blackberry funk. Flowers are going purple with our 40-45F nights/early mornings and our 80F days. The weather couldn't possibly be better for growing purple bud? although I do expect it to warm up 10 or so degrees and get back to normal soon and stay that way until February when my GDP seedlings will be making seeds and going purple?

Dude, it's been a blast and I've still got a little bush mom and 3 I flipped on the 15th, 2 in Slupeecups. They just love everything I do. Couldn't be easier. I just moved the one I harvested a couple weeks ago into groove bags today, 4 oz. Got a couple buds on the tray and will roll one up soon?
Very nice, very well done. If I had room...

Some neat stuff from the past couple days. I built 2 of these 6x5 boxes
20221123_101800.jpg
for composting. Got a client with a horse ranch who gives me as much manure as I can take and I filled them to overflowing and placed old shower doors on top about a year ago and while shoveling out to use in the garden I came upon these 2 creatures
20221124_121228.jpg
A Blue Bellied Lizard and a 3 Lined Skink
20221124_121608.jpg
A female I believe as the males and young have a beautiful metallic blue.

Then there was this creature eyeing me as if I would possibly bother her
20221124_095828.jpg
She wouldn't take her eyes off me. I'd love to see an army of these of all sizes, this one was a good 3". I just talked to her while taking about half dozen pictures. Very cool.

Speaking of composting
20221123_101855.jpg
I'm reviving this old one. I filled it, let it sit for a couple years and used what was left, about a quarter after being filled to almost overflowing with kitchen scraps, soil, chicken straw, weeds, etc. Makes good stuff?

Tomorrow flipped plants turn 8, 6, 4 and almost 2 weeks. I haven't seen much amber yet. Gonna take a look old school with a loop.
