Raven's Nest

sorry, old fart here. coming from the days of dubious legality, and browsing high times for vendors that advertise there, I tend to forget that premium genetics and clones are easier to come by these days. gone are the days of isolation, ignorance, and gambling your freedom on ordering seeds. instead of hunting 5 packs of dp twilight or nirvana ice or aurora indica, and still coming up with resinless larfy hemp, or getting two amazing black domina in a pack, and doing them every way you can just to eliminate one, just dial-a-clone. foaf does the order clones thing, in a way it baffles me that he hasn't started a mother, but in other ways, i envy that he plays with all top shelf genetics, pre-phenohunted teens ready to flower. all gas no brakes, perpetual. he just took down a Detroit runtz that reeks of mothballs, and a gorilla butter that smells so cakey and sweet muskish.

my keeper sensi star was highly memorable, and GG had been on some type of weed bucket list for me for a hot minute. those were cool to me, and stood out. sounds fun, i envy you.

gotcha, sorry if i snapped a little. oldie here as well, if you are looking for gg4 go for an ecsd, less yieldy but truly a treat. lots of goodness around this forum, and most all the peeps here are very pleasant and sharing.

its my birthday! not really. but.... i'll take it. thank you @sandman83 for the chemmies! i do believe these are out of stock everywhere. the STS... won't be refeminizing the chems. but i will put it to use soon. no pics but also nabbed a knock off hlg quantum, a fresh 4" mixed flow, a cheap 2x3 tent, and some accessories. should be able to do a lot more here now, been a while since i had adequate space.

filling big voids here for me here. and im not done with 12 reg beans lol. found a replacement hells clone for sale.... but have a hard time paying two hunnies for a clone i never paid for in the first place... much love to @GthaEnigma for the pack, and the extra Flossmosis beanies as well. lining up some more genetic skeletons soon. welcome back lady:carlton::carlton::carlton:

headless! but thats ok. attempting to bring my plug game up a tier here. utilizing the bleach method described in the schwaggy write up, can say for sure it helped my loss rate. so far lost two out of 11, which for me.... is pretty good. seems to keep them alive for longer at the minimum prior to striking.

lining up a cool space for the aero soon, but for now this seems to be taking care of biz. aero might end up in its own rig, 18/6 in a tent, assuming the plugs keep churning along on the rack at 24/0. the topping? trying something... stay tuned. and think auxins:ohhh:

decap'ed pinkman goo clones are peeking out roots on first round of 3 cuts, gonna take pick of this litter for myself. made several changes to how i do plugs this time, and for once everything worked. more light, more air, less humidity, more food... and bleach.

i used to be a dwc guy, diy rigs i made. some plug cloning but not much, and not this successful typically. think this is, at the minimum, my new preferred summer method. the clone room these are in has been scorching at around 77-78 F the entire time ambient temp. these plugs don't gaf.

second round of 6 was taken in flower early for a buddy, willing to bet they will nearly catch up to veg clones. available food, at the time of cloning...

now for this topping thing... just be honest, your clones have cannibalized at one point or another. and yes i'm aware of the shock factor. i tried it with a few particularly cannibalized clones without roots, and overnight saw mediocre clones change to upswept and happy. topped the rest and same result.

after some sugar (literally), they greened out very rapidly as well, in combo with opening the domes earlier... say 4 days in. the flowering clones have remained completely upswept and praying since.

anyway. before i get on another coffee fueled rant that goes nowhere slow, this is good. 9 out of 11 remain still, no issues. the two i tossed weren't horrible, just aesthetics in the end. could say i've had better numbers in the past, and have aced a few runs, but not often enough unfortunately. and the past year... nuff said.

i'll take this improvement (and my recent seed acquisitions) and tip my hat to you all here at pheno. happy ninja:chasing tail:

Dayum, she is growing great!!! Use a few stakes then throw a trellis net up. It reduces the amount of stakes. I went from 10hr of staking my flower room to 15mins of tossing up 2 levels of nets.

yea she is super sturdy genetics. hasn't blinked so far, just ramped up more past week. took 11 cuts off, topped 3 times. my regular transition feeding just seems to have ramped up a little later with her.

yea i'm gonna have to go net soon. the tent "specific" nets suck, so i'll grab something from the home du pot or the grow store... maybe check in on my seed packs collecting dust.

grr... it's a rant for another time and/or place... but stop the obsession with fem seeds everybody! you still have to select out duds, muties, and herms. just like males. just stop.

my god.:coffee:

I was curious how sturdy those 'tent" based trellis were without the supplemental support bars.

Some of the stuff I have was only available as fem so, I am OK with that :) I've had some really interesting results with them thus far.

From the sounds of it, about as sturdy as my mental state watching a Popeye's Commercial LOL

to be clear and less psychotic, im just bitching because my local area is filled with pay-to-win rooks. i have fems, and plan on making my own fems as well. and certain lines as you say just arent available without going fem seed. from a genetic standpoint, a clone only crossed to a clone only does eliminate alot of unwanted phenotypes in a sense as well. but again, selecting out unwanted herms duds or muties occurs just like selecting out males. my locals need to learn some.

its not that they arent sturdy, but the so called "pro nets" have huge holes. way too large to consider an actual net or "scrog" of any kind, more like a support trellis or something. and since the sizes arent 100% specific, they stretch to open the holes up larger. waste of money.

on that gear tip, i am happy to see tent-specific oscillating clip fans now. vivosun and ac infinity have them, and as a tent guy let me tell you... every single clip fan i have used has eventually come off the tent poles, sometimes costing me a branch of nug. and these new ones oscillate, which may save us tent growers a degree or so.

i think my original diesel-laced point was what the store manager said, when i asked if he had any money for me this week. "it isnt a growers market anymore". and outside of spots like pheno, which are very few and far between, he's right. at least in my state, his autos and fems all sell out instantly. my own regs and more established brand regs are just looked at. cool logo! and off to run their 2 plant minimum by the book with some auto fem.

ive made hells S1 fems in the past, and charged a hefty fee for them, at the time they were more in demand i would say. had some honest issues with muties, and a lot of herm action, mostly due to operator error on my part. so certainly not knocking the process, at all. just the "heads" who are entering the grow scene upon rec, and just googling their way through it. they can't beat nature with a pocketbook no matter what they do.

cheese cheese cheese lol. you are relentless! i actually gave back the pack of buddha cheese... sorry. the original owner wanted them back. all in all i like a lot of different older varieties and heirlooms, even just to have or use in a project. the smell of my last run of sour nearly got me locked up, so that's the main issue rn, until i get more carbon filter action here.
