Yeah, Id smash everyone of those dogs. But I have to say Im a little salty theres not a single New England representative on there! They even mention the New England style bun, but we get no entry! Id like to put forth the Maine Red Snapper as our envoy to the United Hot Dogs Convention istockphoto-1139293956-1024x1024.jpg

Looks amazing! I have been inspired! Lol. Although I will be doing it in the crock pot tomorrow x about 8 hours...prepped everything tonight. Tip: I used to get so annoyed cutting those dries chilis to remove the seeds/viens. They would just break into little pieces. Scissors are the way to open em' up.

I used a blender to puree the liquid fter it's cook time. I dont have an immersion blender. Make sure you remove those bay leaves, if you used them. I ended up vac sealing the leftover barirra.

for reference :)
The only time I've seen that Michigan was in Montreal Quebec. I was just as confused there too lol.

Take the Cheese of the Coney and make it normal size and that is what we get here.

Kinda looks like a red rocket lol. Not the part of the dog I'd normally eat but hey I'm open minded.

Yeah, Im not surprised. There were hot dogs all over when I was in Amsterdam and none of them had pizza sauce lol. I think the more common theme there was how often they were deep fried, probably because they usually came from fry carts. They would put little slits in these super heavily spiced hot dogs, deep fry them, then put onions and mustard or curry sauce on them.

Your definitely not the first to point that out lol. But they are a damn good hot dog. Theres a few places in the beach towns that do them coney island style and theyre my favorite.

When I grew up in Florida, there were no options for Coney dogs (chili dogs). Here in michigan, Coney Island restaurants are all over. Michigan sure likes the weiners.
No "red rockets" for me.
Lol
It's weird seeing them with Cheese on them isn't it? I wonder if they use the natural casings with that lovely snap when you bite them like we do in the Mitten.

Deep fried and spiced is interesting, I would try that lol.

You know eventually you'll have to visit; red, trich and I can show you how Pizza can taste :)

Yeah, I watch a lot of cooking shows. I learned most of my smoking knowledge from pit masters shows. I keep tweaking my recipes from watching them.

Last yr on our way to Florida from Michigan (I-75 all the way down), we stopped at one of the biggest bbq spots off i75. I don't remember the name of the guy. Iirc, it was in Georgia.i think he is a judge on pit masters.

Cheese coneys are big here. Chili sauce, onions, mustard and hot sauce. Like white castle great after drinking all night.

Lol I can't believe I'm the one saying I haven't had it with Cheese lol.

@MacGydro

Bro you see they put Cheese on Coneys? If Bodean visits we have to do right by our buddy and get him a Coney lol.

I dunno where the hell you guys are from, but my coneys always have cheese on em...preferably melted cheddar "cheese" sauce...but shredded cheddar, or even American slices work too...
And what the hell is this "tomato based meat chili sauce"? Isn’t it just finely ground "beef", seasonings, and grease??

Mostly Detroit would be my favorite Coneys, but I've not seen one with Cheese lol.
