Here's a little slide show of me attempting to collect pollen from this GG4 male.

I waited a few days for a couple of sacs to open up so I can feel confident in the maturity of the pollen. I snipped off some open and almost open flowers:

I used a glass that was cleaned and dried thoroughly to let these flowers drop in. Too much movement and you can see the pollen release into the environment.

I used parchment paper to wrap the top of the glass and flipped upside down to let everything collect onto the paper.

With the excess paper wrapped around the cup, this technique made a nice little bowl shape for the flowers to sit in while drying out some.

I set the flowers in a warm and dry location overnight. I then gave the paper a quick tap to help shake loose the pollen.

So far so good. Not much plant material broke off with the pollen and with the paper it's easily bunched together without sticking. Once I get enough I'll attempt to pour this into a mini centrifuge vial with some baked off rice. This has worked like a charm compared to past attempts with other methods. :stoned:

@Buck5050 your documentation and photo skills are on point :onpoint: you're an absolute natural. Very easy to follow along and oh let's not forget that fire you're slingin :mariofireball::phenohunt:. Love how you're working w our community breeder strains. Great work man.
Thanks man. All the credit for the 2019 collaboration chuck goes to both Eso and Red. Those boys started the kindness chain, me documenting the journey is my way of saying thanks ?

Currently I am working down some lines a bit trying to create a couple unique things of my own. I do have another f2 tribute project in the works using BlueRipper(Jack the Ripper X Blueberry) by Groeer. I found a nice male from my remaining seed stock and will hit my keeper cut. Preservation will be nice and getting this out to the community will be awesome.

Tomahawk glamour shots on the final strut down the catwalk. She'll come down tomorrow on day 60.

Most of these shots were attempted in natural light. Here's a few more of a couple of other things I have going:

BlueRipper

Too much leaf on this phenotype of BlueRipper and didn't swell as much as my keeper. She smells decent, and has some thorough frost coverage, and filled in well. She'll come down in another week.

I have been fairly adamant about not naming my chucks or creations until I felt it worthy of the work put into it. Besides it being a pain in the ass and long-winded to type out it can be hard to follow. So, to limit confusion I will be calling my backcross generation GG75

Here is a shot of the GG75 male

He has been dropping pollen for most of last week. I am looking to take some of these tops inside for more collection attempts. He's so close to his sister that their branches are crossing each other. Being that this all came from GG4 I have been keeping my eyes on stability. I haven't had any issues with either of the parents and between all progeny, there haven't been any issues either.

Those will be the final shots from the male. His tops were harvested and placed in a glass of water indoors. I left plenty of lowers for him to continue to drop pollen on his sister for another week or two. Messy son of a bitch, plenty of pollen went poof in the process. I am so glad my indoor girls are about done or this might have eventually been an issue.

Here, I wanted to show a little update on the DIY portable pollinator.

The branch growth has slowed considerably but still is doing its thang. The past few days even a couple have fallen down onto the girls below.

This is my Keeper Cut of BlueRipper by Groeer . She's definitely liking the pollen and has been for a few days. Her sister is a few days behind in development and has doesn't appear to take in the pollen as well. I probably just ax her out of this project all together until I get a better look at her indoors.

I went out and made an executive decision.

I ended up removing the BlueRipper#1 from the seed run so I can focus the line from my selections. She isn't gone forever she'll get a run through the flower tent next round.

Stacks well, terps are there, and frost coverage is decent. We'll get a better look at her down the road.
