Things outdoors are starting to show around my area. This was one is from Dixon Cider group that I have been taking a look at.

Showing some strong structural branches like the Cider Kush. Nice knuckles, and should hold up some heavy flowers I'd say. Not a ton of aroma coming from him and nodal spacing showed more elongation than what I like. He'd make for a dope ass slingshot! Culled him and a couple of others out.
You have to make a slingshot now. No taksies backsies

Animal Cookies

If you all remember I won some cuts from the Aniversary Contest. I asked for Animal Cookies and MAC1 and the Forum cut was thrown in for free. I have never had a shot at growing any elite cuts so I have tried my best. Been spraying back the thrips that came with them, alternating between Monterey on Saturdays and Plant Therapy on Wednesdays. It's been pretty stressful. The Forum cut got tossed way back because of health and hassle. The Animal Cookies was the first to show thrip damage after the Forum was removed. The MAC1 shortly followed the AC. I have had an underlying suspicion that something was systemic within the remaining two cuts. The above photos are trying to highlight the extreme wilting that shows itself out of nowhere. Both plants are healthy beforehand and the majority of the plant looks great. I find it odd that half the plant tops pictured are healthy and the others have heavy wilt and leaf decay.

These so-called animal cookies have hit the bin along with the affected MAC1 cuts I have taken. Time for me to move on and save my garden before these things spread to the stuff I've hunted. The ones in flower are going till the wheels fall off. Maybe I can salvage some beans.

I have a single MAC1 cut that looks normal but it is still young, I will monitor it over the next couple of weeks, if it shows this lower leaf wilt it's gone. :hotpoop:

I'm right there with you brother...I just now, earlier today, realized/came to the same conclusion about my situation. Everything in my small tent I just cleaned looks good and clean, thankfully...but I'm trashing everything else I had going (the whole 4x4...project ... seed run...?)

Meltdown #2

She's been in re-veg for awhile and now that she's about to flower again I thought I'd clean her up a bit. Some hidden treasures were found. About a dozen that were nice. She was sitting next to her brother and obviously caught some of that dust making a small batch of F2s.

I am not sure if I recall the Anniversary Contest. Where did the cuts come from? A couple of questions regarding the damage; is it only on the cuts or other plants as well and also, what part of the plants are damaged (ie top, middle, bottom)? I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties in the garden brother. Have you scoped the affected areas under 100x magnification? Whatever the case, I hope that you get it all straightened out soon! Positive vibes...

Further Genetics. They looked good when I received them. I believe I posted shots of them in a couple of spots including this thread.

Yes, this extreme wilting is only showing on the 2 cuts I received, as of yet. ? The thrip damage spread to a couple of other plants inside my flower tent before I started spinosad treatment.

starts at the bottom and works its way up, see some examples from above.

I have posted some shots previously of the thrips from the one USB microscope I do have, I am not sure if it goes down to 100x.

I am not sure if I am familiar with Further Genetics. I could have seen shots that you posted of the cuts and just forgotten. I am old and my memory definitely isn't what it used to be haha.

The information you provided is a little bit worrisome; seemingly infected cuttings and damage starting from the bottom and working its way up. Admittedly, after getting russet mites on cuts around 4-5 months ago, I am always worried about them whenever I hear people talk about getting cuttings and then having unknown pests/disease problems. Russet mites are like the fucking AIDS of cannabis plants. They are literally hell and could seemingly survive a nuclear apocalypse. With that being said, damage starting from the bottom and working its way up and based on the leaf damage in your pictures, I would definitely scope your plants at 100x magnification at the very least. It will be quite some time before I ever care to receive another cutting from anyone and I will never trust another fucking cut without first scoping it at 100x magnification. I truly hope that your issue is not russet mites, but you really need to scope to be certain. Positive vibes...

The last survivor MAC1 showed some signs so I scoped the whole plant. The scope I have been using does go down to 100x. Nothing on the effected area or the plant or the main stalk. I turned to the Rockwool cube since it and perlite are the only other two:

The white dot looks like a mite, its legs were moving when I captured the image. Not sure what to make of it. I ended up soaking the top in Plant Therapy and I'll do it again tomorrow.

Broad mite?
I can see if I can get a better shot at some point. It's definitely a pest and usually the Plant Therapy kicks ass on mites if it is a mite. I don't soak the root zone as much as I do the above ground foliage but I do make sure to cover everything. I only use perlite as a substrate and cubes for clones. Not much of an environment to thrive in but they seem to. If I'm too keep things going I'll need to figure out how to treat the root zones.

I've been reading neem oil on the plant and Spinosad can be used down in the soil. I don't have much experience with treating roots so I'll give it a go on this cut and see if I can either kill the pests or the plant. I'm thinking of using the Spinosad and pour a couple of ounces through? Like I said, I'm not really sure.

Mosquito dunks or Microbelift BMC are good for hydroponic root zone eradication. Ive never used spinosad as an eradication method in root zone, but thinking about it the plant will still absorb the same stuff whether by root uptake or by foliar application.
