In Bloom
Quick update I guess since I'm here. I've got 12 plants left in flower in the 4x4. The gnats got them pretty bad and I'm not sure if they'll all make it but I decided to give them all a shot. There's 2x Chem Kesey x Monkey Balls from @stanknugzz77, 1 each Tranquil Chocolate, Bag of Oranges and BBHP x A Dub from Useful, Bazooka Blast from @thenotsoesoteric, Rev Chung from @Keif Lint, Black Cheese from Hazeman, WiFi 43 from clone, and 2x Apes in Space from Exotic.

As much as I hate to do it I think I'm gonna flip the Mass Super Skunk and let the cut go. I have a BX of it from the same guy who sent me the cut so if I ever want it back I'll hunt those. But for now I just want to focus on the Hippy Slayer until I can learn to clone more reliably.

Most are actually looking alright for the moment but they're still clearly stressed. I'm gonna let them ride while I focus on the Bahlki preservation run and a little chucking project I want to do with the Dream Beaver @Amos Otis sent me.

Also in the process of shucking the FVK F2s and have the selfed HS33 hanging to dry so that's pretty exciting. Germ tests soon and if all goes well I'll start getting some of them out into the community.

And that's my state of the garden address I guess lol. Hopefully we'll get back to pretty pictures soon instead of all these words.
Sometimes taking a step back to re-evaluate is a good thing man. I must of tried every single media/style of cloning. Bought every gel/powder/different aloe that I could find and tried en all. But everytime it would be below 50% success amd to me I was wasting all this money and time. So I gave up for a little so I could reset my outlook. And dude it did wonders! I came back at it and simplified it. My whole problem was I’d check on them or think they need air and open the dome or put them too close to my seedling light, spraying them a few times a day even when they weren’t dry, spraying the plants only and spraying g the dome only. The facts were I was being TOO DILIGENT of a grower thinking I had to be on top of everything all the time. When I really just needed to let Mother Nature do her thing.
Lately I have just been doing the bare minimum. I’m not worrying about dipping in alcohol or all that extra shit. I just take the cut, dip it, plug it, spray the dome and cutting, moisten the plugs and pop on the dome. Now I will put it near my seedling light but not under it. Too much light is bad. Now once it’s near the light I just forget about them until I see the dome is dry then I spray the dome lid and forget it again until next time.
IMHO I like growing from seeds way way more then clones. Idk how many times now my clones have had to reveg because they were thrown off their cycle when in the dome. With seeds I don’t need to worry about a reveg or waiting 20 days for it to root. To me seeds are just more reliable and they don’t carry pests with them.

I really hope your alright man and that you take whatever time you need to get back in track and giving it that gentlemancorpse all we like to see!

This milk crate idea is golden! I didn’t know anyone else gave it a go. I used that black weed guard fabric to line a few crates with for my cherry tomatoes! I had no clue I had found a little potting container hack. Great to see other mcguiver growers out there.
That’s not what milk crates were intended for. You’re supposed to stack them up and walk across them.

@Kold Kasiz I just realized I still have an Endor Score x MMHP female from you... I kept thinking it was another Patient Zero from CSI until I just read the label. Pretty excited to find her hiding in there! I have those, the Dream Beavers and HS33 mom in quarantine at the moment, just vegging.

Just got the Athena soil drench to try and knock out any pests that are lingering in those so I can get them to the finish line

Edit: stoner brain fart, tagged @Buck5050 when I meant @Kold Kasiz because I was looking at the BR x Tomahawk cross while I was typing. Simultaneously trying to decide what to run next now that I have things cleaned and reset!

Germ rate on the FVK F2s was... not good. 3/12. Gonna drop another round soon and see if it's any better.

HS33 S1s are ready to be shucked but I tweaked my back and haven't had the motivation to actually do it yet. Probably get started this weekend.

Got some gummies though to help with my back when I can't smoke as much (stupid job) and they're pretty great actually. I've never been big on edibles but I like these. I need to make some myself now.

Whats everyone's thoughts on how many regs to run in a 3x3 for a 12/12 from seed pheno hunt? Assuming all hybrids, no whacky sativas
Have you run 12/12 from seed before? I'm doing a tent with the flip coming about 12 days from seed, and I won't do it again. It's nice to get a quick look at several plants and get some shots posted of current offerings, but the lack of maturity translated into slower transitioning to blooming, which, in retrospect makes all the sense in the world. The yields, of course, will be minimal. Next time, I'll use just rooted clones.

I have not but I've flipped at two weeks several times and actually been pretty happy with the results. And fully understand the delayed blooming part. I'm just trying to dig through a bunch of seeds fairly quickly to see their expressions with the intention of revegging anything I like. Not worried about yield at all right now. And from what I've seen from other growers, it seems like people are frequently able to get similar results going 12/12 from seed as I was getting with a two week veg.

I know there's some peeps here who only do 12/12 from seed but I can't remember who. @Senokai maybe?

1/2 gal pots for 12/12 more than a gallon os a waste imo. I think they run about the same time as a 4 week veg. I also think vegging and flipping before alternating nodes is hard on the plant, potentially causing intersex issues. No proof just suspicion.
Put a rack in there and go vert, bet you could get 20+ in 1 gal pots. 16 on the floor would be tight but using 1/2 gal will keep them small.

So what I get out of this..

You have spent so much money on beans that now you need to figure a way to justify Buying More.....

So Instead of just running half packs and doing the same thing, and keeping the other's for a rainy day, or just give some beans away.. your going to start a bunch of 1 zip plants..

Man you are Killing me...

I mean, your not wrong lol, but the idea is to find a couple keepers I actually like, reveg them and then do a bigger run for yield or chuck with them. The problem with my frenetic dropping one or two from each pack that I've been doing is if I get a dud it's just a complete waste of a run. Like great, I got a quarter pound, but it's a quarter pound of mids I wasted 5 months growing. And let's be honest, I'm buying more seeds either way....
