Back to skunk...I think people are missing on the combo...I think much like the sour you get out of the DDNL from TopDawg is Chem D x to RFK skunk x Hawaiian...x to Northern Lights...but also very skunky diesel fuel...and cross that back to Sour Diesel which is very skunky diesel fuel...and search the shit out of the f2s that would be a better way and surely it would be in there...just my thoughts as this is now November and by the end of the Month I should be finding the Appalachian Skunk the is sold all through the Valley in Virginia which is just like the old school skunk I used to get...when I smoked the old ddnl stuff and when I smoke sour D I get reminders of that old skunk...
I do not think it will come from searching old skunk lines...it was a combo of what was going on back then.
Ok...shoot me down!

I'm not sure if I can help with the search for RKS other than I smoked it in the DFW area in the late 90's. We always knew when our buddies were holding, you could smell it across the room, in his pocket, in a 35mm film container. I remember the look of the bud also, super light green for back in the day and sticky, like really really sticky. It leaned toward the sativa side. Unfortunately I haven't seen it since 2003 we also had bubba skunk ( bubba kush x RKS? Shoreline?) around that time and had cuts of it

Nice write up! I've eyed a few of these crosses. I may have to take a crack at that Dominion Skunk at some point. I'm finishing up my last run with a clone only Mass Super Skunk that JJ confirmed was MSS but Matt Riot swears isn't... and while it's great, its not skunky at all and is more acrid burnt rubber. Also been running a cut of Bohdi's Hippy Slayer (Dirty Hippy x Roadkill Skunk) and again, it's great smoke, but no Skunk spray. That ones more like garlic and dirty gym bag.

Thanks, I definitely recommend the Dominion Skunk, I'm sure there's a louder one in there than the one I found even. Thanks for the info, those two were on the list with high hopes but sounds like I can keep looking. Is the Hippy Slayer Bodhi's personal cut or hunted from a pack?

Yeah that was appalachian Super Skunk, which I always referred to as ASS, but then american skunk selection came along and IDK anymore.

Did the Appalachian have that skunk to it?

ill be trying texacannacreation s skunk line ups. he has seversal but the screwed up skunk is meant to be closest to rks. i like where you are going with your selections.

That cross does sound amazing! and the Shoreline F2s. Interested to see how they turn out!

That's interesting. I've got zero skunk experience, but recall an interview w/ either BOG or JJ where they claimed sour diesels aren't as sour today under modern lighting. I wonder if the same factor could be influencing the skunk hunt?

It was sold to me as a breeders cut but it turns out it's actually the clone only cut that Bohdi supplied KindPeoples dispensary in Santa Cruz who sold it around 2013 and it was selected by someone named PJ when they were testing the cross. PJ I guess is an associate of Bohdi's? It took me forever to get confirmation. Not that that's all that different than a breeders cut I suppose but I like to make sure I'm not misleading anyone lol. As far as I'm aware there is no actual breeders cut from Bohdi. I don't think Hippy Slayer ever got used as mother in any future crosses.

This Afghan fella has a red rotten meat plant. Mazar Balkh everything he collects and sells. I'm going to have a crack at red plant dead meat plant. Maybe the elusive road kill skunk is still.out there. Maybe it isn't but I'm not one for dying without trying. He's on IG if others are interested.

Hold on a minute...are they claiming to have some real skunk? I heard Jodfrey or whatever his name is say it was more of an Ester (Alcohol) that carries the Terpene funk so far and strong. That the old school skunks had multiple things working for them to be so offensive. I don't know....I just wish you, Schwaggy and a few others would hurry up and figure it out already! Damnit....

Something to consider is environmental factors in grows. What lights and nutrients were used? Plants will express different traits and terps with different lights/temps/nutes, etc. Was RKS grown inside under hid or hps? How were temps controlled? In my limited experience, warmer temps seem to bring out more stink

I'm actually a little surprised to hear that. My experience and a bit of reading (which could be wrong of course, I'd love feedback) states that Resin is the Cannabis plant's weather proofing to keep water and cold temperatures at bay to save the possible seeds so that the genetics live on in a harsh climate.

Now growing and seeing Motor Breath both indoor and outdoor, the outdoor was allowed to get really cold, and it seemed to be a lot stickier and stronger scent compared to the indoor plants that stayed warm.

Now I can't help but notice someone mentioned Afghan!! Afghani has a possible Skunky Phenotype??? Am I understanding this right?? Got me all excited now!
