The Tanita is now old skool? Shoot, still one of the best. The Tanita replaced my really old skool Ohaus.. I have had this triple beam for, maybe.... 42 years? Dang. How time flies.

Sitting on top are the temple balls wrapped for curing.

does that one have all the BBs in it when you unscrew the plate? I had one, not with that dial, more like 90s version. I unscrewed the plate one time for wahtever reason and some bbs fell out lol. My buddy also got one after the chem lab in high school upgraded. Still more accurate than a lotta cheapass "smoke shop" digitals.

It never really occurred to me to remove the plate, at the time it was a major investment to my young self, I babied that thing. Note the custom molded 1980s case.

If I recall right that dial was the deluxe upgraded model. Only the best. (y)

A goodbye look at the outdoor crop. More rain expected tonight, there is starting to be a couple mold spots on the fattest buds, but for as wet as they have remained for so long I am pleased.

This year has surprised me in lots of ways. I did not expect the indoor & outdoor to finish at the same time, but I will be harvesting the super stinky indoor Boos in the morning too. These AFPAK x DLA5 were vegged indoors for a month & placed outdoors when I flipped the tent. DSC05371.jpg

This Star Pupil has acquired a frosty coating, lots of trichomes there but the indoors had a lot more smell. No mold on her.

Thanks Red!

The Star Pupil has been an anomaly, it is rare for me to get a winter outdoor plant with no purple at all in the leaves from the cold wet nights, this might be the first, light green leaves & totally purple flowers.

Fun stuff. The winter crop has its own high, the flowers are usually too harsh but the rosin & hash are outstanding. Seems to me that there is a real focused clarity there.

Course could all be my imagination. :p

Nice that we have these quarantine distractions. :superhappydance:

I have a half dozen chucks I did with some reversed BOO pollen useful gave me. Would love to get some of those to you if you are interested. Pre98 bubba x BOO, Helena x BOO (got a couple of those going off, they look promising!) and a couple others, I"ll have to go take a peek. Just putting the offer out there.

I got your package today, how appropriate that it arrived 4/20! We couldn’t have planned that.

Dude, most impressive! When you offered to share seeds I did not realize what an all star lineup that would be. Mostly fems too. Very cool!

A couple I am super interested in but I will take that discussion to your thread where it belongs but fems of Pre9 Bubba X BOO, yeah baby! You did put that BOO pollen to good use.

Thanks bud, you rock! Generous.

Thanks to @spyralout too for a site where we can share seeds. Now I have to make more agonizing decisions to make space. Doh.

Absolutely man, glad you were pleased by it! That offer goes for all y’all on here. Want seeds? Hit me up.

I got I think 6 of those BOOBA vegging, I’ll definitely tag you in some photos when they hit flower. They’re just small lil 5 noders right now.

Hey Mac! Haven’t seen ya lately, I was thinking of you lately. Hope all is well being quarantined with children! Sounds extra scary to me.

It makes sense that different colors of the spectrum will affect both the plant & the high differently. A cold blue/violet winter high is different than a warm orange/red fall high.

I can’t resist the rosin from that outdoor winter BOO I just harvested a couple weeks ago. Surprising, I was originally a little disappointed with the outdoor compared to the indoor but the rosin is amazing.

Still planning on joining you on the mushroom cultivation, sounds fun.

Lol, doing well with the fam man. We've gotten a lot done around the place lately and that's been really awesome...... I was thinking the same, a winter sun and a summer sun are two different things. I could see it giving you different buds, just like different indoor lighting will too. I wonder if the winter stuff has a higher terp content, less heat cooking them off...... Buddy you better get some fungi going, you don't know the fun you're missing. I started 3 tubs today, my first monotubs so we'll see how this shakes out lol.

Glad to hear the family is well, trying times for sure.

Outdoor winter usually has plenty of trichomes, they are often smaller under a scope, like keeping them closer to the plant. Interesting that tho they have plenty of trichomes it seldom gets the loud smells that you get with warmer weather, the late fall harvest is where the smell is. Been another random theory of mine that root temps affect the smell big time. Just random observations from growing in the same spot for 30 years.

Fungi...I am starting to think of the lazy man's way & get a kit to start.

Any orange in that BOO rosin....or something else? Funny how you just never know till you flatten a few pucks how something will shake out.

No orange at all in the outdoor, sweet but not real strong aroma. The indoor ones had orange big time, I had one pheno that turned more of a skunk with a touch of orange at the end. She is hanging, can't wait to try it. Purple flowers too, I am attempting to reveg that one.

Were yours all orange scent?

Roots could have play there too. Roots definitely have a lot of control over the plant lol. Those random observations from years of watching hold some value amigo....... I'm gonna drop ya a link, I have two kits from these guys. They're FAE system is cool on these kits, it eliminates the need to fan the tub out a couple times a day, HEPA filtered too so less chance of contamination. Check out what they have, a lot of this is pretty easy to put together yourself. But I went the kit way when I started too. It got me on the right track right out of the gate

This is a very interesting theory, especially since one of my grow methods incorporates a water chiller for the roots. The water can get down to 64F, and "feels" colder than that. I may have an opportunity to somewhat test that theory soon. Although not the same strains, I have an unchilled F&D starting up soon, running around the same time as the chilled RDWC.
